The Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee Knoxville invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the area of Experimental Physical/Analytical Chemistry, broadly defined, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2018. The position is at the rank of Assistant Professor and requires a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, chemical physics or a closely related field, and at least one year of experience as a post-doctoral research associate. The successful candidate is expected to develop an internationally recognized, externally funded research program, and to contribute to the Department’s missions of service and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. Faculty members in our department have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers and unique facilities at the nearby Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), such as the Spallation Neutron Source and UT-ORNL Joint Institutes. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.
