The New Building

To meet the increasing demand for high-quality chemistry education and training, the new chemistry building at the University of Tennessee will have:
- Two 50-seat lecture halls
- One 50-seat study room
- Thirty research labs
- Three teaching labs
- Twelve collaboration spaces
- Dedicated workstations for student researchers
By building this new facility, the Department of Chemistry will provide the resources to continue educating the next generation of leaders on our Knoxville campus. This will allow us to pursue a projected:
- 15% increase in undergraduate majors
- 20% growth in graduate students
- 20% increase in chemistry credit hour productions
- 25% increase in external research grants
