Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)

The Department of Chemistry REU is currently on hiatus.

Our REU program is a 10-week immersive training program for high-achieving undergraduate students. This NSF funded program is a comprehensive research experience the provides participants with the skills and initial experience need to grow into a successful scientist. Research opportunities span the traditional fields of chemistry, and students will benefit from the department’s ongoing interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts.

Governor’s School

The Department of Chemistry participates in the Governor’s School for the Sciences and Engineering (GSSE). A 4 week on-campus residential program, GSSE provides an opportunity for high school students to participate in advanced study, lab work, and research in an immersive college experience. 

The GSSE is for Tennessee high school students who are sophomores or juniors at the time of application submission.
