Undergraduate Research Symposium
3rd Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium
April 27th, 2024
2024 Abstract Booklet
The Undergraduate Research Symposium showcases the scientific achievements of our chemistry majors. It has quickly become an annual highlight, with more than 70 students participating in the first two years. The half-day event includes scientific sessions in which students discuss their research in poster and oral presentations, in addition to a kick-off lunch and a concluding dinner and awards ceremony. The lunch and scientific sessions will be held in Mossman Hall from 12-5 PM, and the dinner and awards ceremony will be held in Geier Hall from 5:30-7 PM (the full schedule can be found here). The keynote speaker for this year’s symposium is Dr. Benjamin Sundell, a former undergraduate researcher in our department.
Eligibility
All students in chemistry research classes (200/300/400) are eligible to participate, including those in their first semester. The entire event, including lunch and dinner, is completely free for participating students, their parents, and chemistry faculty (students will also receive a free T-shirt).
